This exhibit is in memory of my mother who lived in Coburg Terrace most of her latter years and enjoyed it immensely.
I have worked in porcelain for many years, a great voyage of discovery. This teapot commemorates my mother’s love of both tea and Alice in Wonderland and is built using impressions of plantain leaves and Giant Hogweed stems. Although it has a spout and a removable lid it disguises its domestic references with the strong plant/flower messages. Although it’s a functioning pot, I really don’t think anyone will be enjoying their Earl Gray from this vessel!
