Graphite & Carbon

h: 37 w: 27 (cms).

This is an unframed drawing in graphite and carbon on paper.

This drawing was completed in the height of the lockdown. I suffer from anxiety and depression which was badly affecting me at this time. As a result, I found myself painting and drawing hopeful pieces to calm and lift my spirit. The coast of South West Cornwall is frequently battered by many storms followed by moments of beauty and tranquillity. This view of a weathered boat moored on a peaceful beach with the waves gently breaking, after a hard day's fishing, reminded me of of the storms our community and myself were weathering, hopefully, to return to a more peaceful time on the other side.
