'Midnight on the Water' was inpired by distant hills rising up from the coast line. The geometic shapes are abstracted forms within the landscape and the colours and marks are purposefully contrasting to create suggestions of trees and hills. The painting was layered using poured paint and once dry hand drawn areas were added for detail. I wanted the colour palette to echo that of the moon on the water and be dark but still jewel like in saturation.
