IAN McCONAGHY
Born and schooled in Plymouth, Devon. School of Architecture in Plymouth and Oxford. Career as architect in London, Worcester, Malvern and Bristol.
2011     Started art practice in Old Market, Bristol
During the first few years reacquired painting and mark making skills, including screen-printing.

2012     Established art studio, Hamilton House, Stokes Croft, Bristol.
                Mortlake exhibition in August 2012
                Paintings in acrylic on canvas, watercolours, ink drawings and screenprints.
2013      Space, Time and Identity, Centrespace, Bristol
Group show. Paintings in acrylic on canvas, ink paintings, watercolours and mixed media on maps.
2014     Places, Tobacco Factory, Bristol
                Group show. Development of map paintings (mixed media)
Light installation for a charity event at St Thomas the martyr church, Bristol for ambient music event.
2015      Participated in various pop-up exhibitions, shops and markets. Selling screen prints and T-shirts, developing digital and collage work.
2016     Worked on illustrations for children’s book, educational materials, CD and Book cover designs
2017     Joined North Bristol Writers
                Writing short stories, a graphic novel and Book cover design.
                Participated in book readings and festival performances
2018     Moved to Torquay, Devon set up new studio. 
Joined Devon Artist Network (DAN)
Participated in DAN Open-Studio.
2019     Artisan Summer Open in Torquay (now a regular exhibitor)
                Works have included collage paintings, small 3D pieces, watercolours and map paintings

2020     Rainbows First exhibition after lockdown at Torre Abbey, Torquay
                Large, five-panel, wall sculpture, Neuworld, based on novel.
2021     Worked on next two books in the series, CrashCity and Sagan's Sister
2022      Joined South Hams Authors Network (SHAN) Took part in literary festivals
